Located in Downtown Brooklyn, the third largest central business district in New York City (following Midtown Manhattan and Lower Manhattan); 340 Livingston Street occupies a prime retail corner. The three-story, low-rise commercial building is currently occupied by a New York State government agency. Originally, the building was home to a furniture store and showroom in the 1940’s. Plans call for the building to be completely renovated, reconfigured and converted into a mixed-use building, consisting of office and retail space. The design draws attention to the corner retail space by both restoring existing elements and introducing new subtle, contemporary elements to the façade.
